Frequently Asked Questions
We know that freeze-dried food can feel like a new world—so we’ve gathered some of the most common questions we receive from customers. Whether you’re wondering about the shelf life, the process, or how to store your food, we’ve got you covered.
We use commercial-grade Harvest Right freeze dryers, which remove moisture through a process called sublimation—freezing the food and then drawing out water under vacuum pressure. This keeps the structure, taste, and up to 97% of the nutrients intact.
- No heat is used, so nutritional quality stays high.
- Texture and flavour are preserved.
- No preservatives or additives required.
- Freeze-dried foods are lighter, retain more nutrients, and rehydrate faster.
- Dehydrated foods lose more moisture through heat, which can reduce shelf life and vitamin content.
If stored properly (in a cool, dry place in sealed packaging), most freeze-dried foods last:
- 25-30 years unopened
- Up to 1 year after opening (if resealed and kept dry)
For best results, keep products in their original packaging or airtight containers with oxygen absorbers.
All products are made in a shared kitchen facility, so we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. However, we clearly label ingredients and are happy to accommodate dietary preferences for custom orders where possible.
Nope. Our standard offerings are made with 100% real ingredients—no preservatives, artificial flavours, or added sugars unless otherwise indicated.
Keep sealed packages in a dry, cool pantry or cupboard. Once opened, reseal in an airtight bag or container. Avoid humid environments (like bathrooms or under-sink storage).
Most of our products can be eaten as-is (think fruit snacks and veggie crisps). Others (like meals or proteins) can be rehydrated in hot water in 5–10 minutes.
Instructions are included on every product label.
